Basketball Preview: Purdue vs. Hofstra - November 11th - 2:00 pm - BTDN

It's been 2 horrible days of officiating for Purdue, yet the football Boilers got a win yesterday.  Today, the men's basketball team looks to get on the board in a game that honestly sort of snuck up on us!  This will be a quick one since the game starts in oh, 5 minutes or so...

They have Pride, you should too!

Why Purdue Will Win -  Hofstra is horrible.  They're coming off a 29 point loss to Monmouth in their season opener and finished 3-15 in the CAA last year.  Even with Terone Johnson out, this is the team Purdue needs to play in order to get their confidence back for next week's games in New York.

Why Hofstra Will Win -  I'm having a very difficult time finding a scenario where this happens.  If Purdue can avoid major injuries and keep from shooting threes all game, it's not going to happen.

One thing you absolutely need to know before the game -  This is the final game on BTDN for the season!  Check out our Newberry post to figure out how to watch it.  But honestly?  It's not going to be that exciting of a game, so I suggest enjoying the last nice day of the year outside, and if you've paid for the online access, watching the replay of the game tonight.  If you haven't already paid for it?  Check out the recap here tomorrow and just watch the replay of the game Wednesday at 3:00 pm on BTN.  This one alone is not worth the $9.95 folks.

Our Picks - We like to think we're better than Vegas.  So throughout the season, we'll be "betting" a whole dollar amount versus the spread between $1 and $32, but we can't repeat the same value twice.  At the end of the year, we'll see if we would have made enough money to make a move to Vegas worth it.  The spread for this game is Purdue by 18.
